I discovered scones in a small English tea garden in the Cuckmere Valley in East Sussex. They left a long-lasting impression on me and still remind me of sunny days in a magnificent old orchard surrounded by gigantic trees. The combination of cream, strawberry & rose jam and scones is just divine. Perfect at any time, not just high teas. My scones do not contain sultanas, they are just plain simple fluffy, vanilla-ey delicious!
