Friands also called "financiers" are small almond cakes baked in small oval moulds, literally meaning "tasting thing". They are mainly made of almond meal and brown butter, light and soft, they are the perfect afternoon snack or ice cream, fruit salad, whipped cream, yogurt, tea or coffee pairing.
